Ongoing Every Tuesday 4:30pm – 7:30pm

Ages: 10 through Adult, all skill levels
Tuition: $100/month for 3 sessions (includes all supplies)
Oil Painting with Mike Jimena is taught in a self-paced studio setting. Based on Mike Jimena’s award-winning technique, each student progresses, learns, and develops at his or her own pace. Student work is included in periodic Art Shows and Receptions. The class is ongoing and may be started at any time. Classes do not need to be consecutive.
Oil Painting for Home Schoolers
This workshop is scheduled for homeschoolers and comes with a higher concentration of one-on-one instruction to develop the skills and technique of the student.
$100 for three 2-hour classes, including all supplies.

About Mike Jimena
Mike Jimena’s artistic career has balanced between visual and performing arts; his paintings, murals, and set designs have been featured locally (the “Komen Promise Wall”), regionally, and nationally. He is a multiple Elly award winner for Set Designs & Lighting, whose work can be seen at B Street Theatre, Sutter Street Theatre, as well as Fairy Tale Town (designed and built the Granny Goose Stage), The California Arts Council, and the Stage Nine store. Jimena has designed numerous Gold Medal award-winning exhibits for counties throughout California that may be viewed yearly at the California State Fair; his special awards include Best Design, Best Marketing & Best Animation. He is also a founding teacher of Natomas Charter School Performing & Fine Arts Academy, creating both the visual arts and stagecraft program. Jimena is also a Recipient of the Wilkerson Fellowship for Arts Education.

Aired January 31, 2021 - A Sacramento legend is giving the community a look at his artwork spanning more than 50 years. Mike Jimena and Sutter Street Theatre are hosting an art show called “The Wild and Wacky World of Mike.” Jimena says he is hoping to provide an escape for families during the pandemic.
